Rog Nidan Evum Vikriti Vigyan
Bridging classical Ayurvedic diagnostic systems with modern pathology investigations to enable precise clinical assessment and successful medical practice.
Diagnostics and Pathology in Ayurveda
Rog Nidan Evum Vikriti Vigyan is the branch of Ayurveda concerned with the diagnosis and pathology of diseases. It provides students with the knowledge and skills required for accurate disease identification and clinical assessment.
The department teaches Ayurvedic diagnostic methods such as Trividha Pariksha, Ashtavidha Pariksha, Dashavidha Pariksha, and modern diagnostic procedures including laboratory investigations. Students learn about the causes, progression, manifestations, and pathological changes associated with various diseases.
Practical training is provided through pathology laboratories where students perform hematological, biochemical, microbiological, and clinical investigations. The department emphasizes the integration of Ayurvedic and modern diagnostic approaches. The knowledge gained in this department forms the basis for effective treatment planning and successful clinical practice.
Ayurvedic Diagnostic Frameworks
Ayurvedic pathology relies heavily on multi-faceted examination systems to track bodily dynamics:
Trividha Pariksha
Three-fold diagnostic check: Darshana (inspection), Sparshana (palpation), and Prashna (interrogation)
Ashtavidha Pariksha
Eight-fold clinical check including Nadi (pulse), Mutra (urine), Mala (stool), Jihva (tongue), and Shabda-Sparsha-Druk-Akriti
Dashavidha Pariksha
Ten-fold physical examination assessing constitution, tolerance, structure, and vitality parameters
Laboratory & Practical Training
Our department features comprehensive modern testing facilities to train students in clinical pathology:
Clinical & Hematology Laboratory
Equipped for routine hematological checks, biochemical profiles, and urine investigations.
Microbiological Diagnostic Unit
Focuses on microbiological culturing, slide microscopy, and biochemical marker testing.
During clinical postings, students correlate subjective symptoms from classical Ayurvedic texts with objective modern lab reports, validating traditional diagnostic pathways.
