Panchakarma (Detoxification & Rejuvenation)

A specialized branch of Ayurveda dedicated to profound purification, detoxification, and rejuvenation therapies to restore dynamic biological equilibrium.

Purification & Rejuvenation Therapy

Panchakarma is a specialized branch of Ayurveda dedicated to purification, detoxification, and rejuvenation therapies. It is regarded as one of the most effective treatment modalities for maintaining health and managing chronic diseases.

The department provides training in the five principal purification procedures: Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya, and Raktamokshana. Students learn the indications, contraindications, methodology, and therapeutic benefits of Panchakarma therapies.

Practical training is conducted in dedicated Panchakarma therapy units where students observe and perform various therapeutic procedures under expert supervision. The department also teaches Purvakarma (pre-purification measures like Snehana and Swedana) and Paschatkarma (post-treatment dietary and lifestyle regimens) that support Panchakarma treatments. The department promotes holistic healing by restoring balance among Dosha, Dhatu, and Mala and enhancing the body's natural healing capacity.

The Five Sodhana (Purification) Procedures

Students learn both the conceptual rationale and clinical protocols of the classical five-fold detoxification:

Vamana (Therapeutic Emesis)

Detoxification targeting Kapha-dominated disorders, respiratory issues, and skin diseases.

Virechana (Therapeutic Purgation)

Cleansing targeting Pitta-dominated disorders, metabolic imbalances, and systemic impurities.

Basti (Medicated Enema)

Considered the primary therapy for Vata disorders, targeting systemic nervous and musculoskeletal conditions.

Nasya (Nasal Instillation)

Clearing toxins accumulated in the head, sinuses, neck, and sensory organs.

Raktamokshana (Blood Purification)

Traditional bloodletting using leeches (Jalaukavacharana) or venesection for vascular and chronic skin conditions.

Therapy Units & Facilities

The clinical training of Panchakarma is conducted across dedicated, state-of-the-art treatment environments:

Dedicated Therapy Rooms

Separate sections for male and female patients, maintaining absolute privacy and tranquil, therapeutic ambiances.

Traditional Wooden Droni

Handcrafted classical wooden massage tables optimized for deep-tissue oil treatments (Abhyanga).

Snehana & Swedana Setups

Equipped with steam chambers (Bashpa Sweda), localized steam tubes (Nadi Sweda), and Shirodhara stands.

Students gain comprehensive exposure to raw herbal preparation, daily collection of medicinal oils, pre-operative protocols, dynamic monitoring during purification, and dietary rehabilitation (Samsarjana Krama).
